Welcome home. Home is where the hut is.
This hut is located in Steingrimsfjarðarheiði in the north west of Iceland, on the road that separates the Western Fjords from the rest of the country. It is also symbolic. It represents the home page of my new site, and it represents how I feel about Iceland.
Ever since I first visited the country, back in April 1999, I have felt a link with the place, almost as if it were a second home. I have been to many beautiful places around the world, but nowhere that I feel I could live, except for Iceland.
Iceland is also where I discovered that there was so much more to my photography than I had previously thought. It is where I first used a digital camera in earnest; where I first took a photographic ‘busmans holiday’, touring the country with two friends and our cameras; and where I have returned almost every year since 2002, on each visit captivated by something new.
Anyway, welcome to my world: photography. I hope you enjoy your stay.
